How the quote works
How do you work out the delivery band from a postcode?
We measure the straight-line distance from our Manchester base to the middle of your postcode, then add a quarter to allow for the roads. For most of the country that lands within a few miles of the real road distance. Delivery bands go by road miles, one way, so we check the route before we confirm the price, and the quote tells you when a job sits close to the next band up.
How are hires longer than a week priced?
Whole weeks are £250 each, and any days left over are £90 each, but never more than another £250. Three days at £90 come to more than a week's hire, so from three days the week rate applies. A 9-day hire is £250 plus two days at £90, £430 in all, and a 10-day hire is two weeks, £500.
Is the quote a firm price?
No, it is an estimate: our standard rates applied to what you put in, and a member of our team confirms the price when we reply. Two things can change it: the road distance, which we check in case the route puts the job in a different delivery band, and anything we price per job, like an electrician or delivery over 120 miles. Nothing is booked until we have confirmed availability and your deposit has cleared.
